In this ground-breaking training, your personal perceptions will be challenged and your Culturally Responsiveness enhanced greatly.
This is deep learning that uses a series of real-life scenarios, or vignettes, that empowers you to bring your own Lived Experiences to that table while learning from the Voices of First Nations Elders.
Through their wisdoms, they reveal the Cultural Nuances that can create major barriers to communication.
This training was developed by Traditional Owner / Elder Aunty Cheri Yavu-Kama-Harathunian, in whom Elders across Australia invested so that bridges of communication could be built between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in today's Australia.
In this training you will learn about:
- Lateral Violence and its impacts
- Perceived Power in communications
- How to access a First Nations community and 'Do the Business' in a Culturally Safe way
- Unconscious communications mistakes when working within two World Views of Indigenous and non-Indigenous
- EFFECTIVE communications skills
- Differences in decision-making between the two World Views of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples
Being Culturally Responsive means you are able to change and shift in line with emerging needs. It supports Cultural Safety and builds Cultural Awareness.
This training has been developed over more than two decades by the Voices of Traditional Owners and Elders across Australia.
